"Bleed"

In the Theta Conoin System (the first proposed site of the Ark2 Colony) initial reconnaissance revealed a previously unknown phenomenon. The Ignis Rift is a breakdown in the normal fabric of spacetime, letting light and brief flashes of images bleed through into the surrounding space. Strange and inexplicable readings aside, the phenomenon appears to be harmless – vessels are able to pass right through it without incident – but the full nature and mechanics of the effect are still not understood, nor is there a clear enough view to determine what might be on the other side.
